Big Brothers/Big Sisters Opportunity

For nearly 90 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities has lifted up individuals and communities by befriending and encouraging the kids in our neighborhoods and schools.

Big Brothers Big Sisters creates and supports one-to-one relationships between children ages 7 to 13 and the adults in their community. These relationships provide the children a role model to have fun with and the adults an enthusiastic and caring little friend.

Our youth mentoring programs have been shown to better communities by improving the children’s decision-making skills thus reducing at-risk behavior; and by providing adults with an enjoyable and meaningful experience.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities is reaching out to members of Gethsemane Lutheran Church because of the high demand for mentors near the Maplewood area.  Currently, there are 70 Littles searching for Bigs to meet with them for about an hour a week.
