We believe that God is active in our lives and in the world, but how often do we really go looking to see what God is up to? And when we do catch sight of the Lord at work, how often do we tell each other about it?
I'm looking for a batch of "God Spotters" who will spend a week on the lookout, take some notes along the way, and then share some stories and sightings with the rest of us on a Sunday morning.
Interested? Read on!
This Sunday, July 11th, I will have little notebooks to give out to eight volunteers at the end of worship to be our spotters for the week. I'll have some ideas and suggestions for them as well, but mostly we'll rely on the Spirit to help them to be attentive and to "notice things" during their regular activities. Then next Sunday, July 18th, I'll gather the whole batch of them with me during worship just to hear the report, and together, the congregation will reflect on what it looks like God has been up to during the week.
Think you might like to be a spotter? Great! Pray about it and come ready to volunteer. Children and youth can be spotters too! Contact Pastor Tim at TThompson@geth.org if you have any questions.
God is surely up to something... let's take a look together and see what we can see!
